3, 2, 1…Happy New Year!

And welcome to the debut of my new web domain: Neo-Destati [dot] net! For those new to knowing me, I have been blogging on other sites before such as being hosted on a long time online friend, Afef’s domain for a while and moved to the crap hole Byethost for a few months until I finally fulfilled one of my larger wish list items: buy a domain and hosting! For those you have followed my blog for a while, please update your URL links to the new one. The site is still under some pretty hefty construction right now so please bear with me. Trying to tweak some small things on WordPress was already difficult for my mind for one night. For the mean time, here is a list of things to look forward to in the near future:
- DIY tutorials: I finally got a sewing machine just this most recent Christmas and I am still trying to learn it. Such things like face medi-masks (like Visual Kei/Cyber goths wear), cosmetic bags, stylish gloves, etc., are some things I plan to learn to make.
- Entries on my spiritual learnings: As my great blog friends will know, I have been studying Wicca and Witchcraft since mid February of 2009. I recently have been studying a bit of Buddhism on the side just this past month. I am on a path to being an eclectic (meaning mixing different beliefs/faiths/religions/spiritualities together) Buddhist-Wiccan. I will be creating entries on the latest things I have been studying on either side of the line as well as special events (i.e. when I reach my year and a day studying of Wicca to officially intiate myself, Wiccan Wheel of the Year holidays, etc.) and whatever comes up.
- Special finds at the local thrift stores: My dad and myself go to the local thrift stores once a week, usually on a Friday, and we sometimes come across some neat things for either himself or myself. If I find anything good, I would be happy to show you what I got. This past trip, I went by myself before work the other day and found the “Legend of Mana” PSone game in great used condition for $1 USD as well as a Celtic tree sign book (great for my Wiccan practices) and a Chinese art and culture book.
- Daily rants of the usual: One of the main reasons for a blog is for ranting about who-knows-what. Work life, home life, yada yada yada…you know, the stuff that doesn’t need much explanation?
I will try to work more on the pages tomorrow before I work in the early afternoon. There are a few things I would like to add to the navigation/the other column side such as trying to remember which fanlistings and blog crews I was a member at (Don’t worry Euri, I definitely remember I am a part of your J-rock blog crew), join a few rotation sites, and try to work on the footer of the site. It was working fine in Dreamweaver before I had to convert it into WordPress format but now I cannot figure out how to get my bottom image for my footer to come up right. The image for the footer is to give the bottom of the page a rounded end to make it look all boxed in instead of just straight down. After that, it will be time to work on the extra pages of the site. I had in mind setting it up similar for what Angelica currently has going on for her site. I was using her site (and even one of her older layouts) as reference, influence, and inspiration for this layout.
Speaking of her and Afef, I got both Christmas cards in the mail from them at the same time the other day. I love Angelica’s handwriting and Afef’s cow slipper socks she got me. I have yet to send out Angelica her card because the post offices around here have had screwy hours these past few weeks because of Christmas and New Years, not to mention everyone being there. Do not worry Angelica as I am making it up and have got you a late Christmas gift! Also got a gift for Afef’s birthday coming up in a couple weeks. I will be sending them both out Monday morning as I have Monday off.
At the end of each journal entry, I will try to leave everyone with a Buddhist, Wiccan, or whatever kind of quote for you all to ponder on. So then, everyone have a great New Year!
